Lou Ann Shumate

Lou Ann “Birdie” Shumate passed unexpectedly on November 14, 2019. She was the most compassionate, loving, and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all. The world lost a truly wonderful soul who touched everyone in her life with her love and devotion. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren (Tyler) Bond; son, David Shumate III; grandsons, Jaxson, Grayson, and Hudson; brothers, Jim and Andy White; sisters, Susan McFarland and Ellen Petterson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by parents William and Virginia White. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 19th from 4pm to 7pm for a Celebration of Life at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road N., Pickerington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending memorial contributions to Tyler’s Light (tylerslight.com) or The House of Hope (hofhope.org).
