Louise Coil (Chaffin) died peacefully on November 12, 2023, at The Inn at Winchester Trail
in Canal Winchester, Ohio, at the age of one hundred. Louise was born on April 14, 1923,
in Martin County, Kentucky, to Vicie (Fain) and John Wesley Chaffin. She was a long-time
employee of Lazarus and worked at the High Street store as a drapery consultant until her
retirement at age 62. She was the heart of the family and, with her husband Herb, enjoyed hosting holidays and
birthdays at her home on Ross Road.
She is survived by her children, Kenzie B. Endicott (Jan) of Circleville, Ohio; Janet E. Hunter (Allen) of San Diego,
California; and Donna J. Endicott of The Villages, Florida; her grandchildren, Teresa Endicott, Timothy Endicott-
Steele, Danielle Endicott, Angela Endicott Elder, John Wesley Endicott, and Allen M. Hunter III; eight greatgrandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by three brothers, James, Theodore, and Richard; four
sisters, Virginia, Maxine, Grace, and Audra; her husband of thirty-five years, Herbert C. Coil; her son Leon
Endicott; her grandson Joshua Endicott and granddaughter Tracee Endicott. Her first husband and father of her
four children, Zenith Endicott, preceded her in death on June 24, 1992.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 12-2 pm at the Dwayne R. Spence
Funeral Home, 650 West Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Louise’s
