She was born September 3, 1945 in Newark to the late Margaret Shumaker-Pyle and Willard Pyle. Her early life began on Bluejay Road outside Heath where she ran around with the cats, dogs, chickens and cows on her father’s farm. Later moving to E. She brought her musical talents to Wittenberg University where she graduated with a BA, was a member of Alpha XI Delta sorority and the choir where she sang and traveled on the University’s World Tour and entertained the USO Troops. Later, she earned her Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Columbus State and taught preschool at Epiphany Lutheran Church for a number of years.
Peg was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pickerington, where she found solace and strength. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Epiphany Choir and a dedicated member of the Franklin Park Conservatory Women’s board, serving several terms as the secretary of the Board’s Executive Committee.
Peg was a dedicated and tireless homemaker and mother. She was known for her enthusiastic nature, always focused on her family and loved ones. Peg was a generous and kind-hearted individual, loved by all who knew her. In her free time, Peg cherished being a loving and committed grandmother to all her grandchildren. She particularly relished babysitting with her husband Rick once a week for their grandsons, who adored her beyond measure.
