Mary Louise Nicodemus

Mary Nicodemus, age 74 of Pickerington, died July 5, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Ivan and Alta (Swonger) Nicodemus; siblings, John Nicodemus and Peggy Hensley. Survived by siblings Susan Fetters of Pickerington and Earl (Betty) Nicodemus of West Liberty, WV; nieces and nephews, Rachel (Jim) Scofield, Rebecca (John) Fetters, Sarah (Michael) Root, Michael Nicodemus, Jake (Meghan) Nicodemus, Aaron (Crystal) Fetters, Jason (Sharyn) Nicodemus, Joshua Nicodemus; Great nieces and nephews, Tristen, Alex, Heath, Zach, Juliet, Lydia, Gavin and Kali; many cousins and many good friends.

Mary will be missed by her friends and colleagues from Pickerington LSD, where she taught for 37 years. At the time of her retirement she was a sixth grade teacher at Diley Middle School. She also continued to volunteer as a tutor for several years after her retirement. When not teaching she enjoyed traveling with family and friends on day trips, journeys across the country and around the world. Mary was artistically talented in many ways. One of her most recent focuses when painting was creating landscapes in watercolors. She designed beautiful gardens and interior decoration. She was also a skilled cook and baker, including her special occasion decorated cakes. Family and friends may visit 5-8:00pm on Tuesday, July 13, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N. Pickerington, OH 43147. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Mary’s honor to the BSA Troop 256 or the PCMA Food Pantry.
