MaryKaye Spaulding, age 75, passed away on April 20, 2021 in Columbus, OH. She was born on August 31, 1945 in Arlington, VA to Ruben Thomas and Louise Boyer. MaryKaye was a 1963 graduate of Lancaster High School and she also received degrees from Franklin University and Ottawa University in Indiana. For many years she coached Basketball for the Columbus Comets with the Special Olympics, was a Girl Scouts Leader and was a Camp Counselor for the Cystic Fibrosis Camp. MaryKaye did volunteer work for Mott’s Military Museum, Groveport Town Hall and was a Helper for the Groveport Senior Center. She retired from Children’s Hospital after a long career.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth D. Spaulding; daughter, Kimberly (Brian) Spaulding-Buescher; brothers, James and William Thomas; sister and brother-in-law, Pat (Don) Barnett; eight nieces and nephews; fourteen great nieces and nephews; three great-great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and friends. MaryKaye is preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH.
