Maxine (Stambaugh) Coleman, age 88, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on March 26, 2018. Born on June 10, 1929, in Lucasville, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Coleman; parents, Nova and Ray Stambaugh; son, Ronald Coleman; brothers, Ray Stambaugh, Jr., Edgel Stambaugh, and Howard Stambaugh; second husband, Ed Novack; and many cherished friends.
She is survived by daughter, Deborah Coleman; sisters Vivian Schaefer and Lillian Myers; daughter-in-law, Debbie (Herman) Redman; grandsons, Aaron Coleman (Chelsea Huber) and Derek Coleman; nieces, nephews, and their families; and many dear friends.
Maxine graduated from Pickerington High School in 1947. She worked for many years as the head cook at Herbert Mills Elementary School in Reynoldsburg. She was a long time member of the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, the Social Ones Singles Group, and WOW (Widows and Widowers) Singles Group. She loved flower and vegetable gardening, playing euchre, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church (Bauserman Sanctuary), 1636 Graham Road, Reynoldsburg, on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Service at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Bob Mathias, officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date at Violet Cemetery, Pickerington, OH.
