Melvin P. Kinney

Melvin Kinney, age 83, of Groveport, died Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Mount Carmel East. He was born June 25, 1936, in Cynthiana, KY to the late William and Julia Kinney. Melvin proudly served our country as a member of the United States Air Force. He worked for Lucent Technologies and retired after 30 years. Melvin loved playing with his great grand babies and spending time with his family; most of all he loved the Lord. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Kinney. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Kathleen Kinney; two sons, Douglas Kinney, Brian (Kim) Kinney; two granddaughters, Emily (Tyler) and Talia (Rochelle), and their mother, Karen; five great-grandchildren, Carson, Beau, Samantha, McCabe, Alton; brother, David (Kay) Kinney; sister, Linda Barnes; his church family at Bloom Baptist; special neighbors and special friends, Becky and Jim Blaney and Doug Smith. Family and friends may visit 10-12:00pm on Tuesday, October 8, at Bloom Baptist Church, 4210 Cedar Hill Rd. NW., Lithopolis, OH 43136, where a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Mike O’Bryant, will follow at 12:00pm. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
