Merl Richard Potts, age 85, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Merl was born November 29, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Merl and Myrtle (McNutson) Potts. Merl was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, he also enjoyed golfing and bowling in his spare time. He worked for the City of Columbus for 30 years.
In addition to his parents, Merl is preceded in death by his son, Mark R. Potts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jacqueline (Shartz) Potts; daughter, Terry (Dallas) Jones; granddaughters, Sarah, Christal and Amber; great grandchildren, Emma, Mia, Avery, Lucy, Beckett, and Adison.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, January 4, officiated by Bryce Copeland. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Ohio Health Home Hospice.
