Norma Jean Miller
August 28, 1928 ~ June 7, 2021 (age 92) 92 Years Old
Norma “Jean” (Willis) Miller of Lancaster, Ohio died on June 7, 2021 peacefully at home. Jean was born on August 28, 1928 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Jessie Marie (Aeh) and Everett “Red” Washington Willis. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist School in Portsmouth through the ninth grade and graduated in May 1946 from Washington High School in Nauvoo, Ohio, now known as West Portsmouth. In 1948, Jean made her home in Columbus, Ohio where she was employed by Ohio Bell. After 36 years of service, she retired in June 1982. In June 1964 she married Richard “Dick” Miller Sr. In addition to her parents, Jean was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Dick, in May 2008; four brothers, Rollin, Roger (Ruby), Robert and Ralph; nephews, Robert Jr., Jeffrey (Linda), Thomas, Philip Willis and Ray Woodward; nieces, Janet Murphy and Judy Tootle; nephew, Dennis Willis; all aunts and uncles and two very special cousins, Virginia “Tid” Southworth and Richard “Tag” Aeh. She is survived by her children, Scott (Christine) Miller of Pleasantville, Sherri “Ed” Miller of Lancaster; step-children, Sandra (Harrie) White of Columbus, Ric Miller Jr. of Canal Winchester; foster son, Denny Walls; grandchildren, Garrett, Mic and Ethan Miller, Sadie Hill, Sunni Kean, Anthony and Luke Walls; and great-grandchild, Kayson Miller. Also survived by nephews and nieces, Roger Jr. (Tammy) Willis, David (Angie) Willis, Susan (Harry) Bowman, Paula Woodward, Debbie Willis, Jim Murphy, Laura (Steve) Balmer, John (Cathy) Willis, Mary (Dave) Senters, Teresa Van Bibber, Davita Willis,; cousin, Dodie Aeh; a special friend, Wanda Donathan Davis, whom Jean has known her entire life. They grew up together on Front St. in Portsmouth and have “kept in touch” over the years. Also, very special to Jean were Linda Garver, Cmdr. Robert Strausbaugh, Ric Hill and Victor Kean. To her cousins in Portsmouth, Judie McGlone, Mike and Jeanne Southworth and Carol Beach, I love all of you and will see you later. Funeral Services will be in the Chapel at Lithopolis Cemetery on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. A viewing will be 30 minutes prior to the service with Pastor Bill Lavely officiating.
