Norma Jeanne Schacht
November 6, 1928 ~ January 9, 2021 (age 92) 92 Years Old
Norma Jean Schacht, “Jeanne,” age 92 of Canal Winchester, was given the gift of eternal life on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Violet Springs Health Campus. Born November 6, 1928 in Groveport, Ohio to the late Stanley and Della (Clinger) Behm. She was a 1946 graduate of Groveport-Madison High School, attended Capital University, and a 1950 graduate of The Ohio State University. She was a crafty one, often citing mischief in her youth and creating various crafts such as sewing and card-making in her adulthood. She was active in David Evangelical Lutheran Church as a Sunday School teacher, Junior Lutherans Coordinator, Preschool teacher, a member and leader of the Rebekah Circle, Advent Festival, and Quilters. Leadership was a quality that she often understated as she was a longtime leader in Camp Fire Girls, an integral member of the Fairfield County Dairy Boosters, an active member in Franklin County Farm Bureau including winning Franklin County Woman of the Year Award.
Survived by her children, Marilyn (Tom) Wilford of Danville, Elaine (Bill) Jardine of Machipongo, VA, David (Lisa) Schacht, Dale (Terry) Schacht, both of Canal Winchester, Beth (Jim) Maston of Columbus; grandchildren, Sean (Mehgan) Lucas, Kirsten (Brad) Eckerman, Jennica (Dave) Whitfield, Billy Jardine (Spring), Krista (Miguel) Montalvo, Kari (Shaun) Jackson, Brian (Courtney) Jardine, Lisa (Matt) Gale, Eric (Katie) Schacht, Deidra Schacht, Sam (Shauna) Schacht, Seth (Heather) Schacht, Jacob Maston, Rebecca Maston; great grandchildren, Emma (Jake) Settle, Adeline, Ryan, Caleb and Gracie Lucas, David and Ashlynn Eckerman, Ellie, Logan, and Addie Whitfield, Natalia, Miguel, and Levi Montalvo, Will Jackson, Sunny, Coya, and Esther Jardine, Max, Olivia, Luella, and Sophia Gale, Liam and Ella Schacht, and Theo Schacht; sister-in-law, Mary (Al) DiCarlo, North Royalton; and nieces and a nephew. Preceded in death by husband Harold Schacht, grandson Daniel Schacht, brother Harold and his wife Mary Jane Behm, and sister-in-law Ann and her husband Carl Zwayer.
A memorial service will be held at David Lutheran Church, April 10, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends and loved ones to share memories beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
