Tribute

Patricia A. “Patty” Funk, age 81, of Pickerington, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born February 10, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John Gardner & Lena Mae (Mills) Harvey.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Michelle) Funk; grandchildren, Steven, Spencer, and Savanna; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Sproule. At her request there will be no service.
From her son:
I, her son, was fortunate enough to have known her, been raised by her, and been loved by her. I will always cherish and remember all of the good times we had, and even when I was down and she picked me up.   She was an amazing mother, and her light will live in and with me forever.
She was a loving person of all things and all people.  Making friends and brightening peoples day everywhere she went, came second nature to her.   Her acts of kindness and selfless compassion for everyone is one of her most admirable qualities. Also, hard work was no stranger to her. She enjoyed positions where she could directly help people in need.  Her strong work ethics and dedication is what drives me each and every day.
Her grandchildren grew up surrounded by her love, and she was very much a part of their lives, even into young adulthood.  They enjoyed spending time with her no matter the occasion.  Her niece and nephews children were like her extended grandchildren and she adored and loved them very much as well.   She enjoyed spoiling each and every one of them as grandmothers like her do so well.
She will forever have a place in all of our hearts that no one else can fill, and she will always be remembered.  I feel if you are reading this, that she has touched your life in a positive way.  Please take a moment and say something nice to or for her from your heart.  I'm sure her light will burn brighter knowing each and every person that cared for her thinks of her from time to time.
Rest in peace daughter, mother, aunt,  grandmother, and friend.  We will all miss you. May god help you to rejoin your family and friends of long past.
With love, respect, and the highest admiration, your son, Steven.
In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org) in her memory.
