Pearl W. Johnson "PJ"April 30, 1943 ~ January 8, 2018 (age 74)
Pearl W. Johnson, “PJ”, the man, the legend, of Ray, Ohio, formerly of Lithopolis, rode off into the sunset on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the age of 74 surrounded by his loving family. Born April 30, 1943 in Columbus to the late Pearl H. and Lucille (Geddes) Johnson.
He was a cowboy, a hunter, a husband and a father. He was an outlaw running, bullet eating, bear loving S.O.B.! A man who cared for the ones he loved and took no B.S. from the ones he did not. He attended school in Canal Winchester and Carroll, and served in the U.S. Army.
He was the owner of Columbus Electric Sales, Washington Court House Electric Sales, Mt. Vernon Electric Sales, Newark Electric Sales, Star Electric Sales, Johnson Stables, P bar J Ranch, and P bar J Outfitters.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sandi Johnson; children, Pearl Kevin (Trinda) Johnson, Lancaster, Kraig Johnson, Miami, FL, Kurt (Kelly) Johnson, McConnelsville, Kristopher (Emma) Johnson, Carroll, Eddie (Tonya) Ogle, Rockbridge, Brandi (Michael) Steele, Circleville, and Dakota “Bear”, Ray; 17 grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn (Tim) Howard, James (Carol) Johnson, Kathy (Susan) Johnson, Marilyn (Doug) Toole, Stephanie (Dan) Taylor; step-mother, Darlene Johnson; father- and mother-in-law, Ralph and Sandra Ogle; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit 5-9 pm Saturday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 1 pm MONDAY, with Pastor Kevin Westra officiating. Interment Lithopolis Cemetery.
Following the interment the family will receive friends at Lithopolis United Methodist Church.
