Rita Ann Ward

Rita A. Ward, age 79, passed away on June 18, 2022 in Columbus, OH. She was born on May 10, 1943 in Columbus, OH to Joseph and Helen (Gassmann) Fenner. Rita was a graduate of Groveport High School. She enjoyed activity books, puzzles and bowling. Rita was an avid sports fan. She was a regular attendee at Crew, Clippers and Bluejackets games and watched OSU games.
She is survived by her son, Kyle Ward; daughter, Karen Humphreys; grandchildren, Paul and Laura; brothers, John (Barb) Fenner and James (Doris) Fenner, sister-in-law, Margot Fenner; brother-in law, Larry (Sue) Ward; niece Laura Parnell; nephew, Drew Ward; cousin, Nick Ward and a ton of nieces and nephews. Rita is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Ward in 2018; her parents; brother Joseph Fenner and sister, Ellen Evans.
Friends and family may call from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St, Canal Winchester, OH. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Deacon Steve Venturini officiating.
