Robert Richard Bauer

Robert “Dick” R. Bauer, age 86, of Canal Winchester, OH died Saturday, February 16, 2019, at home surrounded by family. He was born July 26, 1932, in New Bloomington, OH, to the late Robert and Lucille (Brady) Bauer. Dick was a member of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War, Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam; he retired after 20 years of service. Dick then founded and worked at Bauer Repair Service and Well Drilling. He was a true family man, enjoying every minute spent with those he cherished. Dick was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and worked as a Redcoat for 20 years. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Isabel Ransome, Frank Bauer and Rachel Barnes. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Jane Bauer; children, Linda Bauer-Beller, Brenda (Tim) Roark, Donna (Steve) Hess and Dean Bauer; grandchildren, Alisha (Bart) Nenadovich, Kevin (Amanda) Jackson, Jennifer Hess, Jarad Hess and Blaine Beller; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Riley, Cora, Logan; siblings, Dorothy Fields, Tom Bauer and John Bauer; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit 4-7:00pm on Thursday, February 21, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Charles Flesher, will be held at 11:00am with an hour prior visitation on Friday, February 22, at the Greencastle Bible Church, 2940 Amanda Northern Rd NW, Carroll, OH 43112. Interment Lithopolis Cemetery.
