Robert John Emmert Jr.

Robert John Emmert Jr., age 92, of Lithopolis, OH passed away peacefully September 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 22, 1929 to the late Robert J Sr. and Helen Louise (Quinlan) Emmert in Zanesville, OH. Bob was a proud soldier of The United States Army, serving in the Korean War and earned multiple medals during his time in the service.
Bob was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an active member of many organizations including Lithopolis American Legion, Knights of Columbus council 505, Zanesville VFW Life member, Canal Winchester & Pickerington Senior Centers, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 302 Zanesville. Bob was an avid collector of shot glasses and antiques. He was special to the community by bringing happiness and joy to many individuals by playing Santa for Pickerington Senior Center.
Bob is survived by his children, Peter G. (Stephanie) Emmert of Nashport, OH, Katie (Tom) Tewksbary of Zanesville, OH, and Mary (Joseph) Humphrey of Frazeysburg, OH; brothers, Michael (Liz) Emmert, of Zanesville and Patrick (Cecil) Emmert of Lincoln, CA; sister, Mary Ellen (Charles) Stevens of Somerset, OH; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Sue; son Robert John Emmert III; sister, Marjorie Beebe and brother, Richard M. Emmert.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, September 16, from 5-8pm at DWAYNE R SPENCE FUNERAL HOME 650 W Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 17, at 10am at Saint John XXIII Parish, 5170 Winchester Southern Rd, Canal Winchester, OH 43110, where visitation will start at 9:30, interment to follow the service at Lithopolis cemetery.
