Robert L. Huskey

Robert L. Huskey, age 81, of Pickerington, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Wesley Ridge. Born December 4, 1935 in Columbus, he was a 1954 graduate of South High School. Retired from the Columbus Dispatch circulation department and was a member of the Wolfe Quarter Century Club. Past member of Charity Newsies, Old Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Columbus Federation of Musicians Local 103. Bob was a lifelong musician, fronting his own dance band for 30+ years. He enjoyed bowling and golf.
Preceded in death by his son, Robert D. Huskey in 1993; mother, Dorothy (Frank) Bussart; father, Clarence (Rita) Huskey; nephew, Steven Huskey; sister-in-law, Shirley Huskey; mother- and father-in-law, Edna and Earl Hoover.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Huskey; children, Chris (Nancy) Huskey, David (Kristi) Huskey, Suzie Huskey, Mindy (Mike) Murphy, Johnny (Susan) Huskey; grandchildren, Misti, Tom (Jessica), Jeremy Huskey, Matt Sermon, Danny (Danielle), Nick (Lauren), Ryan, Jack, and Lainee Huskey, Michael Nicklas; brother, Clarence “Del” (Pat) Huskey; nephews, Larry (Cindy), Harry (Karen), Scott (Tresa), Clark (Julie) Huskey; niece, Debbie (Ward) Sheppard, and their families; special cousin, Joyce (Russ) Herboltzheimer; other many friends and cousins.
Friends may visit 4-8 pm Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, where funeral service will be held 10:30 am Friday. Interment Violet Cemetery.
