Robert Alfred Waibel

Robert Alfred Waibel age 91, of Canal Winchester, OH passed away March 7, 2022. He was born April 1, 1930 in Columbus, OH to the late Alfred and Claudine Waibel. Bob graduated South High School in 1948. He married his wife, Joann in 1950. Bob owned Waibel Electric with his cousin, Carl up to 1976 and started Bob Waibel and Son Electric with his son, Steve, retiring in 1985. He was a self-made man and always had a good business sense. He loved God, his family, friends and his farm. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter. He always had his Beagle hounds for companions to hunt down rabbits. He went to Florida with his wife to spend the winter months and would fish nearly every day. Every summer he could be found on the local lakes or in Canada fishing. It was said he could spit on the sidewalk, dip a line in it and catch a fish. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Joann; brother, John Waibel and sister-in-law, Marilyn Waibel. Survived by his two sons, Steve Waibel and Scott (Stephanie) Waibel; 5 grandchildren, Josh, Zachary, Carrie, Nathan and Heidi. Family and friends may visit 11-1:00pm on Friday, March 11, at the Lithopolis United Methodist Church, 4365 Cedar Hill Rd NW, Lithopolis, OH 43136 with a service officiated by Pastor Alex Feldman to follow at 1:00pm. Interment at Lithopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Lithopolis United Methodist Church or Fairhope Hospice.
