Ruth Marie Stemen
November 23, 1925 ~ August 30, 2021 (age 95) 95 Years Old
Be the first to offer your condolences on Ruth's Tribute Wall
Ruth Marie Stemen, born November 23, 1925, was welcomed home into our Heavenly Father’s waiting arms on Monday, August 30, 2021. After being confined to bed the past several years due to an injury, she is now walking and dancing on the streets that are golden. Ruth is reunited and celebrating with her loved ones who preceded her to eternity: her parents Charles and Gladys Ferne (Good) Stemen, her brothers Harold (Mildred Kinzler), Dale, and Lloyd (Agnes Creager) Stemen, her treasured sister Edith Stemen, nephews Larry and Rodney Stemen, niecein-law, Colleen Stemen, and dear friend Alice Beem, as well as many other friends. Known for her faithful and devout belief in Christ, Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Pickerington High School and employed by Nationwide Insurance in the accounting department until she retired. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, attending the Stoutsville Church Campground, collecting Hummels, building puzzles, reading, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. Ruth’s gentle and quiet spirit encouraged all she met with her genuine smile, a kind word, Bob Stripes peppermints, or a piece of chocolate. She loved Panera’s broccoli cheddar soup in the bread bowl, eating shrimp on the holidays, having dessert, and was meticulous at overseeing the washing of the china after Thanksgiving dinner. Ruth was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and an 18-year resident of the Wesley Ridge Retirement Community in Reynoldsburg. She had a sharp mind and deeply loved her family, friends, and the caregivers who assisted her. She always took the time to say thank you and that she appreciated all that was done for her. Ruth was generous. She loved the Word of God and the God of the Word. Pictures of her family lined her dresser. She prayed daily for each one and rarely missed an occasion to send a birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter card. Ruth enjoyed life and lived to brighten the lives of others. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched. Deeply loved, Ruth will be missed by the nephews and nieces she leaves behind: Bonnie (Jack) Davis, Lewis (Mary) Stemen, Glenna Stemen, Ellen Stemen, Michael (Sheri) Stemen, Diana (Harold) Auten, David (Deb) Stemen; great nieces and nephews: Jill Stemen Tangeman, Patrick (Christine) Stemen, Kate Stemen, Jennifer (Corbin) Neike, Megan (Brent) Asman, Jessica (Aaron) Baker, Daniel (Clare) Stemen, Kyle Stemen, Benjamin Stemen, Joshua Auten, Carley Auten, Sarah Auten, and Seth Stemen, along with her great, great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Dwayne R Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Rd (St Rt #256), Pickerington, OH 43147 at 4:30 pm - officiated by Rev. Richard Thomas and David Stemen.
