Shirley Elaine Meuser

Shirley Elaine Meuser, long-time resident of Canal Winchester and Pickerington, Ohio died Wednesday, November 23, 2022 after a brief illness and a life well lived. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lois Meuser; and her brother, Paul.
She leaves behind a cousin, Nancy Xander; niece, Mary Sokolowski; and nephews, Carl “Todd” and Jon Meuser and their families.
Shirley graduated from Canal Winchester High School (Class of '51) and Capital University. Her mobility was limited by a neuromuscular disease at age 13, but she never let that slow her down, playing volleyball and basketball in high school and being inducted into the Capital University Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. She led the family business, Meuser's Winchester Farm Sausage, with her brother Paul and loved marketing to businesses, something unprecedented for women of that time. She enjoyed her involvement at David's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the many friends she made through Pairs & Spares.
Her 2nd career as a realtor for King Thompson Realty allowed her business and marketing skills to shine again. She leaves behind a legacy of friendships, which she cherished.
Special thanks to friends Suzy Kramer and Patty Reed, many friends in the ministry, and her caregiver, Jessy Manifold, who allowed Shirley to come home one last time.
A celebration of life will be held 11 am Saturday, April 15, 2023 at David Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 Groveport Rd., Canal Winchester, with Pastor Al Swartz officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.
