Tribute

Steve John Elek, age 82, of Pickerington, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Sage Park in Gahanna. Born February 7, 1938 in Dillonvale, Ohio to the late Steve J. and Wanda C. (Mikina) Elek. He was a retired Lt. Col. with the U.S. Army, and later retired from UPS. He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Pickerington, and St. Ann’s in Ruskin, FL (Apollo Beach).
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diann Elek; children, Stephen (Diane) Elek, Deborah (Terry) Taulbee, and Tina (Karl) Shuster; grandchildren, Brandon, Stephen, Joshua, Skye, Zachary, Timmy, Jessica, Allyson, Andrew, Michael, Benjamin, Sean, and Kristin; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene (Tom) Sherrin; four nieces and many dear friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 600 Hill Rd N. (next to the funeral home) with Fr. James Klima, Celebrant. Masks are required in the church and social distancing must be observed.
