Thomas L. "Grumpy" Clawson

Thomas L. “Grumpy” Clawson, age 71, of Pickerington, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. Born December 28, 1951 in Columbus to the late Linden M. and Janette J. (Curl) Clawson. He was a 1971 graduate of Columbus Eastmoor High School, and was a retired sales manager for Steer & Gear Inc. with 30 years of service. He was a drag racing enthusiast, member of NHRA, and raced many years at National Trails Raceway, where he was known as “Awesome Tom Clawson.”
Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Clawson; daughter, Erica (Ben) Martin; grandchildren, Nicholas and Ella Martin; bonus daughter, Linde Ludwig; brothers-in-law, Philip (Cindi) Walters, Paul (Debbie) Walters; sister-in-law, Maryanne (Ron) Bush; nephew, Craig Clawson; niece, Missy Mouzon; his beloved dog, Piper; and many wonderful friends.
Friends may visit 4-6 pm Thursday, January 19 at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, 550 Hill Rd N (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, where funeral service will follow at 6 pm with Chaplain Steve Dunn officiating.
