Thomas E. Legg

Thomas Edwin Legg, age 72, of Pickerington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2021, surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Columbus, Ohio to Paul and Betty Legg on November 11, 1949. He went to school in Whitehall, Ohio. He married Cheryl Moore on December 27, 1969, and was just shy of reaching 52 wonderful years together. He has 2 daughters, Jeanette and Lisa and 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and 1 great-grandson.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Techneglas (formerly Owens-Illinois) and attended Brookside Baptist Church. He served alongside his wife as a Girl Scout Leader for many years and filled in that much-needed “Dad” role for so many girls who were in need of a strong male presence in their life. He could fix just about anything mechanical and was the go-to guy for his family, friends and neighbors. He loved garage sales and auctions and loved to find hidden treasures. He was truly an amazing man.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Paul Legg; and brothers, Mike Legg, Jim Legg, and John Legg.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Cheryl Legg; mother, Betty Legg,; daughters, Jeanette (John) Gregory and Lisa (Michael) Richardson; grandchildren, Tyler (Alyssa) Richardson, Brayden Gregory, Hayley Richardson, Zane Gregory, Calin Gregory; great-grandson, David Richardson; sister, Judy Legg; brothers, Pat and Curt Legg; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 7 pm Thursday at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, 550 Hill Road N (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, OH 43147, where the family will receive friends beginning at 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do a random act of kindness in Tom’s honor.
