Thomas J. Palmer, age 85, of Carroll, Korean War Veteran Chief Master Sergeant USAF has taken his final flight, Friday, January 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 9, 1932 in Alliance, Ohio to the late Carl and Edith Palmer.
Thomas served our country for 38 years as a member of the Ohio Air National Guard. He was a recipient of the 50 Years of Excellence in Aviation Award. Thomas is a member of the Historical Aircraft Squadron Museum, the Fairfield County Pilots Association, American Legion Post 677, Motts Military Museum and EAA Chapter 443.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara Palmer; sons, Carl Palmer, Tom (Susan) Palmer; granddaughters, Allie, Adrienne; and granddog, Piper.
A Celebration of Life Roll Call will be held from 1-4:00 pm on Saturday, January 20 at the Historical Aircraft Squadron, Fairfield County Airport, 3266 Old Columbus Rd., Carroll, Ohio 43112. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas’ memory can be made to the Historical Aircraft Squadron, historicalaircraftsquadron.com, or to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
