Tribute

Tracy L. Stanton, age 85, of Lancaster, Ohio, and went to be with his Savior on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born on July 30, 1936 in Denver, Missouri to the late Karl T. and Mildred O. (Moreland) Stanton. Tracy was in the ROTC in high school and upon graduating in 1956, he entered the Air Force and rose to the rank of Master Sargent before being honorably discharged 12 years later in 1968. He then became a Service Station Dealer, a Pure Station, then he changed to Union 76 and in 1976, he changed again to a Shell Station, located on Main Street in Bexley until his retirement in 2007. During his years as a Shell Dealer, he became involved in several local, state and national associations. He was President of the Central Ohio Gasoline Dealers Association (COGDA) for 4 years, he then moved on to become the President of the Service Station Dealers of America (SSDA). He was involved in helping draft and pass legislation to keep Ohio dealers viable. He spoke numerous times before Congress regarding deregulation of the gasoline industry. He was a member of Bloom Baptist Church in Lithopolis and served as head deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia S. (Williams) Stanton; children, Dawn (Larry) Maynard, Lynn Grotsky, Kurtis (Traci Jo) Stanton; sisters, Shirley Doering and Karen (Jack) Cook; 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, July 5, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dwayne R Spence Funeral Home, 650 W Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2020 at Bloom Baptist Church, 4210 Cedar Hill Rd NW, Lithopolis, OH 43136 at 11:00 A.M with Jeffrey Arn officiating. Burial taking place at Franklin Hills Cemetery. Arrangements by DWYANE R SPENCE FUNERAL HOME.
