Vance Russell Higgins

Vance Russell Higgins, age 77, of Pickerington, passed away July 7, 2021. He was born on August 1, 1943 in Hemlock, Ohio to the late George and Margaret Higgins. He spent 40 years as a Columbus Police Officer. Vance loved music, especially Gospel; he was a fitness and weightlifting enthusiast, a dedicated member in the church choirs, and an active Gideon. Vance loved to travel the country viewing God’s creations with his loving wife, Donna, as this was his greatest passion.
Vance is survived by his wife, Donna Higgins; son, Vance Higgins II; daughter, Erin Higgins; step-sons, Jeffrey Zeller, and Todd (Sandy) Zeller; grandchildren, Zach, Hogan, and Holdan Zeller; and his brother, Wallace (Carol) Higgins; and his lifelong best-friend, Ned (Sally) Gohring.
He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Dillard Higgins.
Friends and family may visit at Fellowship Baptist Church 4701 Winchester Pike, Columbus, Ohio 43232 on Saturday July 17th, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dave Liuzzo officiating.
