She was preceeded in death by her two brothers, Larry Lorenzen of Northwood and Jim Lorenzen of Perrysbug.

Ginger was a career educator who graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1963 and earned a Bachelors, Masters and PhD in Education from The Ohio State University (OSU). Ginger taught business at several high schools in Columbus City Schools, in addition to teaching evenings as an adjunct professor at OSU for future business teachers. She meanwhile co-authored an Accounting textbook that was published by McGraw-Hill.

Following many years of teaching, she worked at OSU developing curriculum materials for the Ohio Department of Education. She was very active in several professional associations: Ohio Business Teachers Association, Ohio Vocational Association, and Delta Pi Epsilon. The final ten years of her career were spent serving Westerville City Schools as Director of Career and Technical Education.

Following her retirement in 2004, she and her husband Larry enjoyed living in Pickerington, boating on many lakes in Ohio and Tennessee, and spending time at their condo at Indian Lake. They visited family and friends in Columbus, Toledo and Spokane, Washington, enjoyed traveling to Alaska and Hawaii, attending OSU football games and Skull Sessions, watching grandsons play football and walking Golden-grand-dog Marley in New Albany.
