Viva Ester Turner

Viva Esther Turner, age 96, of Pickerington, OH passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 surrounded by family. Born April 5, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Chester and Lamotta (Embery) Montgomery. Viva was passionate and gifted in her needlework specializing in sewing. She was a devoted God loving woman and attended the Church of Christ. Viva enjoyed watching Gameshows, the Cincinnati Reds, gardening, cooking, and teaching the grandchildren how to yo-yo and purple was her favorite color.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, David Turner; siblings, Carl, Ruth, Alice and Rose; and nephew, Dana Zartman.

She is survived by her children, Kent (Susan) Turner, Gary (Nancy) Turner, Wayne (Karen) Turner, Pam Lightle, Melody “Mel” (Bill) Koziatek, and Melinda “Mindy” Kohn; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit Friday, June 3, from 9AM – 11 AM at the DWAYNE R SPENCE FUNERAL HOME 650 W Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service will begin after the calling hours at 11AM with a burial at Union Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Meals on Wheels foundation in memory of Viva.
