William A. Coontz Sr. finished his journey on earth on Thursday, November 22, 2018. He was born January 5, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Westerville High 1964. He worked at Jaeger Machine and Franklin County Engineer before working as a mechanic at U.P.S. and retired in 2003 after 34 years of service. He lived the rest of his life enjoying his family, gardening, and good at fixing anything, giving advice and helping others. He married his high school sweetheart Jacqueline (Burwell), married for 52 years. He attended Crossroads Church in Lithopolis.

Preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Margaret (Fraker) Coontz; and his sister, Sandra Shough. Survived by his wife, Jacqueline; son, William A. Coontz Jr. (Angela); daughter, Jennifer Coontz; grandchildren, Taylor, Austin and Andrew Coontz; aunt-Dorothy (Coontz) Townley; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends may visit 12-2pm and 4-6pm on Monday November 26, at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 Waterloo Street Canal Winchester, Ohio with a service officiated by Pastor Zach Brown at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Mount Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Road Columbus, Ohio 43215.
