William “Bill” Kenny, son of the late William and Clara Kenny, was born Feb. 4, 1945 in Johnstown, PA. A graduate of Richland High School (1963) and the University of Pittsburgh (1967), Bill moved to Columbus, OH where he began his insurance career working with Allstate Insurance for 32 years. In 1968 Bill married Bernardine “Bernie” Surkosky and they were married for 53 years, residing in Pickerington, OH since 1975. In 2000 Bill opened his own insurance agency, All American Casualty, in Reynoldsburg, OH and considered it his greatest accomplishment. He was very proud of being a small business owner where he worked alongside his wife Bernie. Bill quietly departed this life on November 11, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Doris Jean Theuer, and his beloved dog, Lucky. Bill is survived by his wife, Bernardine, daughter Bernadine (Christopher) Imhoff of Westerville, OH, brother Patrick (Rhonda) Kenny of Reynoldsburg, OH, and sisters Joanne Holton of Phoenix, AZ and Rosemary Otto of Williamsburg, VA.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, November 15 from 5:00-8:00pm at Dwayne Spence Funeral Home in Pickerington followed by a funeral mass next door at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish on Tuesday, November 16 at 10:30am where Bill was a founding member. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter at https://www.alz.org/centralohio/donate or 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Inn at Summit Trail and the 7th floor nursing staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
