William Donald Moore

William Donald Moore, Jr., 79, of Pataskala, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Don was born on January 16, 1939 and grew up in Beaver Falls, PA. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor (Doctor) Moore of Pataskala, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Peggy (McDonald) Moore of Pickerington, OH; grandchildren, Krista and Jared Moore of Pickerington, OH; and sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Dave Willson of Beaver Falls, PA. Don was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pickerington, OH. Don was retired after having been employed by the LTV Steel Corporation and the State of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Don was an outstanding musician. Known for his talents as a drummer, he played in bands in Beaver Falls and in the 62nd US Army Band in Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX. The band had the honor of playing for President John F. Kennedy. In his retirement, Don enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He regularly attended Krista and Jared’s activities and loved to share his passion for fishing with them. Don was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He had many life-long friends and no one was a stranger to him. His kindness and smile will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have met him. Friends may visit from 10a.m – 12p.m. on Saturday, November 3rd at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 268 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, OH 43147, where a memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow the service. Arrangements by the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, Pickerington, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don’s memory to Epiphany Lutheran Church.
