William "Rusty" Spears

William “Rusty” Spears, age 61, of Pickerington, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was born January 15, 1960 in Plattsburgh, NY, and was a 1978 graduate of Grove City High School and a 1986 graduate of Wright State University. He was a Technology Director, Product-NF at Nationwide Insurance, where he was employed for 31 years. Rusty gave the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Fiona Spears; mother, Carol Spears, Columbus; siblings, Deborah (Peter) Lynch, Pickerington, Laura (Kevin) Frankenburg, Columbus, John Spears, Columbus, Ruth (Rex) Molihan, Mt. Vernon, Charles Burt, Florida; nieces and nephews, Katie (Scott) Bronson, Patrick (fiancée, Casey Salopek) Lynch, Mary Lynch, Aundrea (Shawn) Patterson, Ian (Tanya) Frankenburg, Shea (Aimee) Molihan, Mike (Angie) Molihan; and many cousins and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, William R. “Bill” and Phyllis Spears.
The family will receive friends 2-6 pm Sunday, October 31 and 11 am to 1 pm Monday, November 1 at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, 550 Hill Rd N (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington. The family requests everyone wear a mask at the funeral home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
