Floyd M. Bowers, age 101, of Canal Winchester, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Inn at Fairfield Village. Born March 8, 1913 in Amanda Township to the late Grover Cleveland & Maggie Elizabeth (Souders) Bowers, he was a lifelong farmer and charter member of Calvary Orthodox Lutheran Church in Lancaster.
Survived by his children, Jerry (Burnita) Bowers, Sunbury, Pat (David) Keiser, Canal Winchester, Roger Bowers (Michele Blackford, and family), Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Brad, Brittany & Brent Bowers, Karla (Jim) Cherwinski, Dustin (Jenny) Keiser; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Stella, William & Travis; sister, Juanita (Don) Claypool, Lancaster; sister-in-law, Lois Bowers, Grove City; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Bowers, in 2007; sisters, Dorothy Smith & Helen Shonebarger; and brother, Fred Bowers.
Friends may visit 4-7 pm Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 10:30 am Friday, with the Rev. Roger Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
