Lewis E. Compton Sr.

Lewis E. Compton Sr., age 74, of Brice, died Friday, December 8, 2017 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born August 10, 1943 in Brice to the late Hugh “Ben” and Ada Compton.
Lewis was a lifetime resident of the Village of Brice; he retired from the Village Council after 25 years. He worked for Ross Laboratories, where he retired after 35 years; he also worked as a Red Coat for The Ohio State University. Lewis was a member of the Whitehall Moose Lodge #1245; a previous Moose of the Year for the state of Ohio, was a former Governor of the Lodge and he held the Degree of Fellowship. He was the founder of the Ross Retirement breakfast at TeeJays. Lewis enjoyed hunting and fishing, but above all loved time spent with his family. He is preceded in death by his grandchildren, Andrew Compton and Kerenza Compton.
Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Cathy Compton; children, Rhonda (Robert McDonald) Compton, Lewis (Lori) Compton Jr., Jacob (DeAnn) Compton, Justin (Tabitha) Compton; special daughter and children, Tina Williamson, James and Kenny; grandchildren, Billy, Benny, Chelsea, Kendra (Nick), Halleigh, Theodore, Kabella, Hunter; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hugh (Betty) Compton, William (Sharon) Compton, Clyde (Connie) Compton; and a host of children that looked to him as a grandfather.
Family and friends may visit from 1-3:00 and 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 13, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110 where a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Ben Geiser, will follow at 7:00 pm. The family would like to thank the staff and fellow patients of Fresenius Kidney Care for enriching Lewis’ life and offer a special thank you to Dr. Greg Wise for his care, compassion and friendship.
