Michael Luce

Michael Alan Luce died suddenly at his home on March 26 in Groveport, Ohio at the age of 62. Michael is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marlene Kote Luce; children, Nathan (Jennifer) Luce and Sara (John) Kruis; grandchild, Emma Kruis; sister, Barbara Sandstrom of Batavia, Iowa and brother, Jeffrey Luce of Salamanca, NY.

He is preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Luce and mother, Gertrude Dorenkamper Luce. Michael was born on April 30, 1954 in Jamestown, NY. He graduated from Southwestern Central High School in 1972. After high school Michael joined the military and served his country in the United States Navy for 23 years. After retiring from the Navy, Michael worked for BMW Financial Services until May of 2014, and Buckeye Outdoors until 2016. Michael was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed archery and hunting in his spare time. He was a part of the Apache Bow Hunters Club and the Central Ohio Coon Hunters Association. Michael enjoyed watching his children grow and become adults. He had the joy of watching his son Nathan play football from high school through college. Michael loved to watch his son coach college football and enjoyed following his teams. Michael also enjoyed spending time with his only grandchild Emma. He loved to teach her new things and spoil her. Michael also loved spending time with his wife of 42 years.

Friends and family may visit 5-8:00pm on Thursday, March 30, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, March 31 at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Michael’s life. Burial will be held at a later date in Kennedy, New York.
