Tommy Dale BlevinsJune 7, 1940 ~ June 29, 2017 (age 77)
Tommy Dale Blevins, age 77, of Baltimore, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Myrtle Beach, SC after fighting injuries received from an auto accident. Born June 7, 1940 in Harlan County, KY to the late Milton T. and Doxie (Blanton) Blevins, he was the retired owner/operator of Blevins Drywall. He was a devoted member, trustee, and deacon of East Livingston Baptist Church where he attended since 1970.
An avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, Tommy had a passion for UK basketball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and gardening, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family at his favorite place, “the land.” Some of his proudest moments occurred while sitting in the stands at his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Joan Blevins; daughters, April (Bill) Moore, Angie (Kurt) Dempsey, and Amy (Jeff) Austin, all of Baltimore; grandchildren, Taylor (Cameron) Love, Alyssa and Jordyn Moore, Brittany, Ashley, and Jacob Dempsey, Maddie and Allie Austin; sister Betty (Dennis) Wynn; sisters-in-law, Margie Blevins, Lanie (Ray) Hatem, Shirley (Bill) Ellis, Vickie (Lawrence) Gilbert; brother-in-law, David (Linda) Thomas; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Blevins.
Friends may visit 4-8 pm Sunday at Violet Baptist Church, 8345 Blacklick Eastern Rd, Pickerington, OH 43147, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday with Rev. Dr. George Winters and Pastor Rick Williams officiating. Interment Union Evangelical Cemetery.
