Irene Salyer Rase

Irene Rase, age 97, of Canal Winchester, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Winchester Place Nursing and Rehab. She was born December 20, 1919 in Kentucky to the late Lorenzo and Emma Salyer.
Irene was a member at Peace Free Lutheran Church; where she was Sunday school teacher for numerous years and part of the Quilting Club. She enjoyed cooking and baking, was a master at quilting and sewing. Irene was a loving and caring mother and grandmother; she cherished time spent with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rase; son, Tom Rase; grandsons, Ben and Andrew Wengert.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Debbie Rase; granddaughters, Melinda (Mark) Hamer, Elisabeth (Josh) Mills; 7 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit 5-7:00 pm on Thursday, September 28, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Michael Johnson, will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 29 at Peace Free Lutheran Church, 28 Elm St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110 with an hour prior visitation.
Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
